Welcome to my web site
Photographs of the welsh marches, Black Mountains, Herefordshire and Wye Valley.
I have a first class BA (hons) degree in Fine Art and a B.Phil in Landscape Design.
I worked as a landscape architect in the north of England before moving to mid Wales in 1987 where I began my career as a designer/maker of bespoke furniture. Another move to the Forest of Dean where I continued to make furniture until 2012. I now live in Ross on Wye.
Arts and crafts have always had an important place in my life, and along the way I have accumulated various skills including ceramics, leaded glass, gilding and painting, mostly for use in furniture.
In 2005 two new avenues opened for me. Botanical art and photography. I had seen an exhibition by the Gloucestershire Society of Botanical Illustrators and was so impressed I signed up for a course. The same year I bought a digital camera and consequently a computer. I installed Photoshop CS2 and worked my way through Matin Evening's excellent book on CS2. It took about a year.
I now work as a photographer and watercolour artist, recently I have started teaching photography privately to small groups.
I hope that my love for the British countryside, its plants, creatures and gardens is reflected in my art.
